Proofs of the Illiteracy of Mr. Shakspere of
saw my e-mail exchanges with orthodox critic Tom Veal, where I staunchly argued that many things about Mr. Shakspere should
be denied as "givens," including his literacy. I must admit that I've adopted this staunch stance over the years as
a sort of "debating ploy," because I thought it was best to make the opposition prove their points in all cases, and there
are so many points that are very weak from the opposition's side. It's best to put them entirely on the defensive, wasting
their time trying to prove the unprovable. So, it just seemed best to say "Not proven" and let them squirm. In
this case I only suspected that there might be more to it, that more than just solid doubt about Mr. Shakspere's literacy,
there might be actual proof of it!
