History of The U.S.

Early Americans
The Indians came to North America probably in search for new hunting grounds or just by following the herds of animals as they migrated to new grassing lands. The Vikings came probable as they did to other areas, in search for wealth. America was probably not to their liking, as was Europe, with its wealthy Kingdoms. Their appearance here was probably short lived, and they moved on. Or maybe they returned from time to time, but never established permanent settlements. Christopher Columbus arrival was probable at that time in history when Europeans were ready to expand their life styles. The early explores and pioneers followed to the Americas, probably in search of wealth. Their exploring lead to settlements and later development of the new lands. From these people England, France, Spain and others laid claim to the lands we now call The Americas. From this information, and the following paragraph, we can see World History is also a part of Genealogy. The part that tells us the movement from one area to another.

From discovery of new lands to establishment of new countries. The Americas over the next 200 years saw the migration of millions of immigrants to her shores. Peoples from the Old European and Asian countries came in ships, any sailing vessel that was available, would do. They all had their reason for coming, weather it was political, religious, or economic. From 1820 to 1992 the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service documented the five leading countries with immigrants to the U.S. They are: Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Ireland.

In researching our Roots we also look for the city and country our ancestors came from, and the reasons they left their homelands. This is our family history, Genealogy.
