Filleting the hull bottom

  • Starting with the bottom panel, fillets are made to fill all seams.
  • Fillets are made of epoxy thickened with wood flour.
  • The mixture resembles the consistency of peanut butter.
  • Using a plastic spreader, fillets cover the pressed down wire ties.

Covering the fillets with fiberglass tape

  • The fillets are covered with 3 in 4 oz. fiberglass tape.
  • The glass tape is saturated with unthickened epoxy.

After taping, all inside surfaces are coated with epoxy

  • All surfaces are coated with 1 layer of unthickened epoxy

The last wire tie to Remove

  • The wire ties are then are cut and filled flush with the panels.
