Belmont Masonic Lodge #627 A.F. &A. M. was originally chartered on January 16, 1916. Earlier meetings were held in the Recorder Courtroom located  above the Belmont Police Department on Main Street.  There have been many members in the Belmont Masonic Fraternity, which have included many prominent residents and businessmen

Fund  raising efforts to construct the current lodge building started in the 1950's , but the building was not occupied until April 11, 1960.
