"Images of the Past" We've created this page for current and previous owners of Redondo Beach historical properties to tell us about their experiences.  Of course relatives, friends, neighbors, and other visitors contributions are always welcome, too.   As we receive comments and photos, individual pages will be added for these buildings.

Non-landmarked properties are also welcome.  The Preservation Commission encourages owners considering building restoration to become involved.   Every year, additional buildings join our landmark program.

And we are interested in buildings no longer in existence.  For example, do you remember the Plunge [click thumbnail at left] and the Lighting Racer Roller Coaster, both constructed in the early 1900s near our Redondo Beach Pier?   Please share with us your experiences.

Do you have a story about a historical property in Redondo Beach?
We'd like to hear from you!   Do you know the original owners?  Has a historical property been in your family for many years?  What is it like to live in a historical district?  Did you take the Red Car to visit relatives here?
How about your experiences restoring a historical building?
We'd like to hear owners' experiences restoring and maintaining landmark properties.   Where did you start?  Where do you find restoration materials?  Has your home been featured on a Redondo Beach Historical Society Home Tour?
Do you have a photo you'd like to share?
If you'd like to post a photo from your album to this website, please e-mail us a digital copy.  If you don't have access to a scanner, you can also mail a copy.   We can scan the photo and mail it back.   Please include details such as when the photo was taken, and names of persons in the photo.
