I passed his cage at first, but didn't get far before a yowl and loud purr turned my head.  We were inspecting the local shelters and did not expect to fall in love.  He was loud and friendly and surely picked us out of the bunch.  When we got him home he was a well behaved 12 week old, always asking first before jumping onto counters and shelves.

He loved to be spoiled and purred instantly (earning him the pseudonym "insta-purr") even without being touched. All we had to do was say his name or just look at him and he was happy.

Almost twelve years later we had to say good bye.  We had hoped that he would have one more Christmas around the tree decorated with plastic balls and paper ornaments (the better to play with), unwrapping catnip mice and eating the holiday turkey feast.  But on December 22nd, 2000 he told us it was time and so we say good bye to a Dear sweet fellow.

We will miss you terribly this, and all Holidays.
