Three Poems
THE GRAVITY OF LOVE
Let me stay here inside your eyes,
let me find sanctuary in the soft universe
of your arms, beneath the blue seas
of your small hands–
I measure your love by the warmth
of your touch, I measure the rain
by the depths of your blues.
Because of your kiss I’ve forgotten
how to sleep, because of your song
I wont allow myself to dream.
You spread your legs for the rising sun--
let’s stay here together and never wake up.
THE EMPTY WHITE DESERT
Days of slow burning fire,
nights are stars we can’t breathe in,
and these poems
are breathing inside me
as I’m counting the clouds
before they melt behind the blue.
A SHORT POEM OF DETACHMENT
Desire is a blue sky
painted by tiny buddhas
under orange trees.
