And so he just sits at the table
with the knife sticking out of his heart

An amazed look in his dead eyes
like he didn't even have the chance to ask why
didn't even have the decency to slump over on 
his face or fall to the ground

He just sits upright, covered with blood
watching us eat, like nothing ever happened
