Pavel Lazarenko is the former Prime Minister of Ukraine.   He is currently charged with money laundering and other charges.
 
He is completely innocent.  The charges were brought by the repressive, pro-Russian (anti-American) ruling clique in Ukraine.  Pavel Lazarenko was the # 1 opposition leader.

This case goes to trial in early 1994.  The defense will demonstrate that the Prime Minister is a political target of a repressive, pro-Russian regime.  Many people are not aware that Pavel Lazarenko was quite pro-United States and that after he left Ukraine (following three attempts on his life) the Ukraine government sold advanced radar systems to Saddam Hussein.
