LAW IS ABOUT PEOPLE AND DOING JUSTICE
Horowitz:
Catching a Baseball is part of the fun of the game.
I met Steven Williams (26 years old) at Fox Studios just after he caught the "Barry Bonds 700th Home Run ball.
I told Steven "Enjoy yourself for a week because after that you going to go from being the guy who caught the ball to a guy
who has to go to court."
9 days later Steven called me. I set up a team of lawyers who are defending Steven free of charge. I call
this team the "Pro Bono All Stars" and I am very grateful for contribution that they are making to the sport of baseball.
The team I put together to help me on this case consists of heavyweight Bay Area lawyers, Ivan Golde (sports attorney),
Dean Johnson (Nationally Known TV Commentator) and Michael Hassen (Miller, Starr & Regalia).
Now how about the next time? We need some method of protecting people who catch these balls from spending their
time in court. We need safety in the stands and we need to put the fun back in the sport.
