This is a "set" of individually boxed and individually sold handpainted lighted porcelain buildings and accessories that seems to have been marketed under both names. These were handcrafted in China. Except for one of the Santa's houses (see below) all of them have incised marks on the bottom with the name of the piece plus "Prettique designs inc., 1993 ©" There is also a little symbol that looks to me like a flower or leaf cluster. The pieces I've found marketed as Kringle Mountain North Pole Limited Edition Christmas Collectibles come a traditional box of lightweight cardboard with a styrofoam insert. I have two of the Santa's Houses. The first has "East West Distributing Company, Deerfield, IL 60015 printed on the bottom of the box and the piece has the incised Prettique legend described above. Here is a view of the front of the box. The second Santa's house is in a different box, and the incised mark says "S. Claus ©1996 Studio 33. The piece itself appears to be identical to the 1993 Prettique piece except for the incised legend. Although the box design is different, the photos on the two boxes are identical as are the lists of pieces in the set. Everything but the UPC is on a label that was affixed to the box over the original East West Distributing Company information. Here are a front and side view of the box, as well as the label on the bottom. The UPC code on the bottom of the box is still registered to Prettique.
I've found Kringle Town pieces only in a styrofoam box with cardboard sleeve. Here are examples of the front and bottom of one sleeve: I'm currently selling most of my North Pole collections. At this time, all of the Prettique buildings I have inspected and listed for sale have been sold, but there may be others soon as I go through my stored collectibles. In the meantime, you can view larger photos of most of the items shown here at http://home.earthlink.net/~elfannex. Accessories in the Kringle Mountain set (according to the box) included Santa, Mrs. Claus, Sleigh of Toys, Snowman, Elves, and Snow Covered Trees. Most of the accessories appear in the photo of the box shown above. I haven't located any of these pieces yet. |
