The Latter-day Saints believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of
the Father [in the flesh], who came in the meridian of time, performed
his work, suffered the penalty and paid the debt of man's original sin
by offering up himself, was resurrected from the dead, and ascended to
his Father; and as Jesus descended below all things, so he will ascend
above all things. We believe that Jesus Christ will come again, as it
is written of him: "And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven
as he went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel; which also
said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same
Jesus which is taken from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner
as ye have seen him go into heaven [Acts 1:10-11]"
