This film was created by Mary Beth Cavert in 2008 at the invitation of Dr. Elizabeth Epperly. It was shown at Epperly's exhibit on Prince Edward Island at the Charlottetown Confederation Centre Art Gallery, "Imagining Anne." It includes images from early and international editions of the Anne series.

This film was created by Mary Beth Cavert for the L.M. Montgomery conference on Prince Edward Island in 2008. It honors the "pioneers" who were the first to preserve L.M. Montgomery's legacy for future generations. It features images from the first and early editions of Anne of Green Gables.

Macneill Homestead Where Anne of Green Gables was Written

This is a film of our friends John and Jennie Macneill who live on the homestead where LM Montgomery wrote Anne of Green Gables. John's father, Ernest, was LMM's 1st cousin (see Journals of LMM, vol 4. p. 63). Jennie grew up on a farm beside the Cavendish shore until it was taken over by Parks Canada. She attended LMM's funeral as a young girl. John and Jennie restored the Homestead grounds with an authenticity which allows Montgomery fans to experience the sense of place that the author herself felt so keenly.

Prince Edward Island 1952 video guide to PEI by Dudley Pictures 1952, one of a series they did around the world.

From Carolyn Collins: There are scenes from Charlottetown; a train (now extinct on PEI); rural scenes featuring harvesting of potatoes, grain, etc.; fishing (lobsters, oysters, & cod); fox-farming with the famous silver foxes; ocean and seashore scenes; harness-racing; Dalvay-by-the-Sea, and, finally, Green Gables. It's fun to see the 'vintage' clothes and cars along with a few horses and wagons.
