Just as the man from Macedonia "begged" for help to reach the people for Christ, the same call from the heart of God comes to us today.  The voices of the people of Marimarituba have reached our ears.  They have asked the people of America for help.

Entire families heard the "Good News." Many accepted Christ and are ready to witness to others.

As we shared the Good News in 2005, God made us aware of something else... He was at work answering the prayers of the people of Marimarituba as well as the people of a small church in Santarem, four hours down river.  He had given them a burden to share His light to the region, beginning with this remote island.

God burden the hearts of Esperanca Baptist Church for the property and building.

In 2005 Blooomington Baptist Church in Bloomington, Indiana joined with the sister church of Esperanca Baptist Church in Santarem, Brazil to work together to accomplish God's mission.  In the months following the October visit, BBC helped raise the money needed to purchase the property and build the building for a new Ministry/Health Center. God was responding to the needs of the people of Marimarituba Costa and the other villages of the island of Patacho and neighboring villages beyond the island.

Wherever the gospel of Christ is shared, people hear God speak.  God has called all believers to be His voice.  When the Good News is delievered, people respond.  It is God who delievers salvation and all those who believe and accept Christ receive eternal life.

Jesus said, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (HCSB)

Pastor Randy discusses the dream of the people. Islander Jose mentions the prayers for property.

In Santarem, four hours down river, God gave Esperanca Baptist Church (Igreja Batista Esperanca) a burden for the property for a new building.  As they prayed, they saved their money for a down payment.

God's promise to Jeremiah is just as real for us today.  "Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and wondrous things you do not know."  Jeremiah 33:3 (HCSB)
