THIS DIRECTORY lists companies in the Los Angeles area that maintain job hotlines. A job hotline is a telephone number that you can call to hear about employment opportunities available at that company. These hotlines sometimes also include information such as where the company is located and how to apply for jobs you hear about. Some of the listings tell you about additional numbers you can call for further info, fax numbers set up to receive your resume, and options for leaving voice messages.

Listings may also include positions outside the LA area: my criterion for including a job hotline is whether or not it's in either the 213, 818, 310, 714, or 800 area codes. Please note that this list was originally compiled in 1996. Since then, two new area codes have been created in the LA area - the (626) area code, which covers the San Gabriel Valley, and the (323) area code, which is a slice of Los Angeles proper, basically a spliter off the (213) area code. The numbers below are almost all unverified against these new area codes. This is not an exhaustive list: it will be expanded as I become aware of additional hotlines and may also include additional information on each company -- let me know of any additions, deletions, or corrections needed:
