Scouting Heritage Merit Badge Class

Prerequisite for class is #4 - See below

Parents Welcomed  -  Class A Uniform Required.

Come learn about the History of BSA and Scouting in the San Gabriel area.

To complete Scouting Heritage Merit Badge:

1) Come and look at the Scouting Heritage Display at the Troop 373 Pancake Breakfast on Nov. 10, 2018, Saturday, 8am - 10am, same place as the class, in Pritchard Hall. Breakfast is $7 per person at the door.Scouting Heritage merit badge requirement #4c, completion certificate will be given at breakfast to Boy Scouts. You may also do 4a or 4b: BSA National Event, see requirements. Scout must bring proof of completion of 4a or 4b or 4c to the class !

2) Bring to the Class:

a) Bring 10 small random items you can find around your home. The items can be as small as a paper clip and as large as an large apple. Bring them in a grocery bag.   Also bring a towel large enough and thick enough to cover the 10 items.


b) Bring Clip board or note pad and pen-pencil.


c) Talk to least two people associated with your Troop (unit). Find out when your unit (Troop) was originally chartered (started). Learn about the history of your unit (Troop). Bring this info.


d) Bring # 6 below:

# 6 Make a collection of some of your personal patches and other Scouting memorabilia. With their permission, you may include items borrowed from family members or friends who have been in Scouting in the past, or you may include photographs of these items. Show this collection to your counselor, and share what you have learned about items in the collection. (There is no requirement regarding how large or small this collection must be. Collection can be either Cub Scout or Boy Scout related).


e) Bring a Blue Card (if you do not have one, one will be provided.)



Note: There is no Merit Badge homework for Scouting Heritage Merit Badge, if all the above is brought to the class. Please do your best to bring these items above to the class, partial blue card given for partial completion. Note: Scout must bring proof of completion of 4a or 4b or 4c to class !
