Scouts attending Scoutmaster Conference and Board
of Review need to come in full class A, with their merit badge sash, neckerchief
and slide.
All Scouts should come to Court of Honors - COH in full class A.
For Class A Uniforms, all patches should be current and in the correct
place, see the photos below.
Merit badge sash and any medals earned are not needed for normal Troop
meetings.
Travel to and from Troop campouts are done in Class A, once scouts
arrive at camp they can change into Class B.
Currently: Pocketed sleeve uniforms wear green shoulder tabs, non-pocketed sleeve uniforms (old type) can wear red tabs.
Long blue jeans and shoes or boots are Class A Uniform in Troop 373.
A BSA Scout Belt is worm with the long blue jeans, if a brass BSA belt, the belt should be adjusted so the brass buckle is just touching the brass end piece.
Eagle Scout Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review require official BSA pants with black or brown polished shoes.
For some San Gabriel Valley Council and Lucky Baldwin District events [like being a color guard], official BSA pants maybe required, if required this information would be given to you before the event, [not needed for Scout Expo].
Uniform Patches:
Left Pocket:
The World
Crest emblem should be worn by all scouts. It symbolizes the
brotherhood of Scouting around the world. The emblem
should be, worn centered horizontally above the left pocket, and placed
vertically between the left shoulder seam and the top of the pocket.
One
Square knot, if earned as a Cub Scout or Boy Scouts, is centered above
the pocket. The medal associated with the knot can be worn to COHs, full
Class A.
Rank patch is centered on the pocket.
Arrow of Light - AOL
if earned worn under the pocket.
Right Pocket: May have a temporary
BSA Patch, This can be any BSA patch centered on the right pocket (sewn
or hanging), if in the OA, the OA Lodge patch should be on the pocket flap.
Sew the Lodge patch just along the top. (An OA sash is for OA events only)
Right Sleeve: US Flag and Patrol Patch.
Left Sleeve (New uniform with a Pocket):
The council shoulder patch (CSP) (San Gabriel
Valley) emblem is worn directly below the shoulder seam on the left
sleeve.
Green 373 just under the CSP.
If trained for your position, trained patch is on the pocket flap.
Troop position patch (one only) on the pocket. (you may have more than
one position, but can only have one patch)
Left Sleeve (Old Type, no pocket):
The council shoulder patch (CSP) (San Gabriel
Valley) emblem is worn directly below the shoulder seam on the left
sleeve.
Red 373 just under the CSP.
Troop position patch (one only) on the pocket. (you may have more than
one position, but can only have one patch)
If trained for your position, trained patch is under position patch..
Merit Badge Sash: Merit
Badges are put 3 across starting at the top, check the merit
badge book or an online reference page to ensure placement is right
side up. If sewing, staple in place before sewing. As a general rule put
the merit badges in the order they are earned. The sash comes in
at least two lengths, 30 inches and 42 inches. All Scouts should purchase
the longer sash, unless you are sure your scout will no grow should you
purchase the shorter 30" sash. If you fill the front of the sash, the patches
then start up the back from the bottom. No non-merit badge patches may
go on the back or front. Merit
Badges are award at COHs.
FYI, the Eagle
Scout required merit badges have a silver boarder. The Sash is worm
for formal occasions like to COH, Scoutmaster Conference
and Board of Review. Also to community Color Guard events. The sash
goes on the right shoulder.
