The Developing Heart:
In a normal embryonic heart (first movie), a valve allows blood
to be pumped out and circulate throughout the body. If the heart lacks a
functioning valve (second movie), blood flows back and forth between the
heart's chambers, but never exits. New research shows that the valve
won't develop properly unless the heart is already pumping normally.
