VIEW OUT THE SLIDERS FROM INSIDE

Walking through the historic west end of Provincetown, across fron the oldest house in town and across from a wonderful grassy lane and one of the most photographed cute little gardens, you'll find the entrance to 75 Commercial Street.  As with many Provincetown spots, you almost don't know what's in store for you from the street, but here you catch a glimpse of the water through the gate and archway of flowering bushes.  After you pass through and walk down the walkway, you arrive at a huge deck extending out over the water.  At high tide the water goes under the entire deck, making you almost feel like you are on a boat.  Flowers line the edges of the deck and Long Point lighthouse is in the distance across the bay. Plenty of room here to lounge, relax, dine, and entertain in your second living room.  Or go down the few stairs to the beach and swim, splash or partake in any of the myriad of water activities available in this charming seaside community.

Open up the glass sliders and enter the modern, comfortable space.  Since the entire waterside wall and most of the east facing wall consist of glass, you almost don't feel any difference between inside and outside.  Even more so in the summer when you can open up the sliders and let the breezes and sound of the water barrage your senses.  The wide plank pine flooring throughout continues this easy feeling of one big space.  Furthermore, you can see the water from everywhere in the apartment - obviously from the living room, but also from the bedroom area, the cute dining nook, the kitchen, and even standing at the sink in the bathroom.  This is truly waterfront living as it's meant to be.

The interior is the size of a one bedroom apartment, but purposely left an open space.  The living room is comfortably and simply furnished with a sofa, cozy armchair and hassock.  There is an overhead skylight spanning the entire width of the living room which allows more light and a feeling of airiness to the space.  It's fun to sit back in the armchair and let the sun shine on your face or watch the gulls fly overhead.  There is a 35" color TV with cable and DVD/VCR to watch and, of course, a stereo with CD/FM radio.  There is also a great brick fireplace to take off the chill in the shoulder seasons and electrically powered shutters for room darkening and extra privacy.  Everywhere the artist owners have added color and artwork to enhance the uniqueness and pleasure of your experience.

The bedroom area is set back from the living area and feels tucked away in the corner.  Yet, it is a queen size bed with plenty of space and open to the room to enable you to wake up to the sun and sound of the water.  The kitchen is a step-up, full-sized and gourmet stocked, featuring a five-burner stainless steel stove with double oven, tangerine custom Corian countertop, hand-made wooden cabinets with glass doors, and a ship's style window to open for breezes and light.  The bathroom is oversized (and not open space in case you were wondering) and with a wonderful window in front of the sink looking out over the bed to the deck and water beyond.  There is a large shower with even a spot to sit inside and a washer and dryer as well.

This is truly what waterfront living is all about.
