So, we decided several years ago that our future PWD’s name would be Barnacle.  Everyone we knew was anticipating Barnacle’s homecoming and EVERYONE knew his name.  So of course we decided to change it once we met him in person, LOL!  When we arrived in Indiana to pick up our baby, Bryan told Nigel (OreoBay Portuguese Water Dogs) that he wanted to teach the puppy “get me a beer” as a trick.  We were joking how OreoBay Get Me A Beer would be a great name (this is the “get” litter, so all the puppies will be named “OreoBay Get…”), and were wondering what a good call name would be.  Hops?  No.  Then we came up with Barley.  It suited him perfectly... and the rest is history!!
