Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) -
one of the most common skin disorders for skin of color (SOC). It's estimated 65% of black patients and 53% of Hispanic
and Asian skin experience some form of hyperpigmentation. PIH usually occurs from skin inflamation due to acne conditions,
other skin eruptions and irritations, misues and overuse of certain skin products and over stimulation from peelings and microdermabrasion,
and many more. Metro Style offers professional treatment and home care regimen.
Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (PFB) or common term RAZOR BUMPS
- is a condition that occurs generally from shaving, waxing, and irritation causing ingrown hairs that are very coarse
to burrow back into the skin, there is blockage, inflammation develops and eventually infection. This is common
in African American men due to coarse hair although it will be seen in skins of all nationality and color and women may develop
this on the check or chin area.. Metro Style offers consultation, treatments and home regimine to keep the skin
from being inflamed and/or hyperpigmented.
Acne or Follicutitie Keloidalis is a condition that
occurs on the back of the neck and is primarily due to irritation from haircuts (cutting tools that have not been properly
sanitized) and the rubbing of shirt collars (certain detergents and starches will irritate the skin). Metro
Style uses H42 BLADE CLEANER to sanitize clippers and straight razor blades. Note: The ONLY patented, EPA approved and water-free anti-bacterial blade cleaner.
*Corrective skin services require pre-treatment consultation to discuss
and understand one's condition and if under doctor's care, must be approved by the attending physician before proceeding with
a peeling treatment.
