Here are the items which are relatively new to my website. The newest items are at the top of the page.
My site has grown to 39 pages and well over 200 images. Large enough that it would now be difficult to casually
scan through every page and identify what is new. I hope this helps sort it out a little bit. Thank you for taking the time
to visit.
Latest Update January 22nd, 2008
January 22nd 2008 - Today I added two books. Eddie Rickenbacker's autobiography with a real nice signature from 1968.
This is oddly a stated 5th printing in the book, and the DJ states 3rd printing. They appear to have been together so it is
just an oddity by nature I guess. The book and the DJ are in great condition. Secondly I have added a rather rare book by
Al Worden. I really didn't even know this book existed until I stumbled upon it. It has a rather lengthy personal inscription
too. Very nice overall.
January 11th 2008 - I have added this book written and autographed by Jacqueline Cochran.
It is in pretty fair shape for a book that is over 50 years old. The corners are sharp, but the DJ is a little tired from
the years. This signature matches 2 others I have seen by her so it should serve as a good reference for those interested.
November 24th 2007 - I have added several interesting things here. First of all I updated, or back dated the site photo
of Jim McDivitt. This is an older B&W photo of Jim in front of an F-104 Starfighter. Note the old truck in the background
for contrast! This photo was signed courtesy of the latest Novaspace McDivitt signing. I have also landed a few flown
items from the X-43A flight test program. A pair of covers flown on the two successful test flights and a flag flown on the
final test flight of the program. These covers and flag were kindly acquired from Tony Landis. Tony adds that there were about
20 of these Mach 7 covers flown, 50 of these Mach 10 covers and roughly 24 of the flags flown.
August 27th, 2007 - Okay there are some big changes here to my cornerstone piece, "The Golden Age of Test Flight."
I have added 17 signatures since my last update. Fifteen of those were just last week at Spacefest. Here they all are:
Merv Evenson, Fred Knox, Ken Chilstrom,
Ray McPerson, John Smyth, Jack Lousma, Paul Weitz, Joe Kerwin,, Walt Cunningham, Rusty Schweickart, Scott Carpenter, Alan
Bean, Buzz Aldrin, Gene Cernan, Charlie Duke, Dave Scott and Edgar Mitchell. This completes some early shuttle missions, has
one Moonwalker from each Moon landing mission, at least one member of each Skylab mission, a Mercury astronaut etc…
I just went nuts at Spacefest is about all I can say. One key change is this was the first time I ever paid anybody to
sign this piece of art. Until now everyone had been happy to sign it for free.
April 24th, 2007 - I just picked up this copy of Douglas Corrigan's book, "That's My Story." This book
was published in November of 1938, released in December of 1938. This copy was printed in January of 1939 and it is a 20th
printing! Wow, that was a lot of printings real fast. This copy is real clean for a 70 year old book. I love the inscription
too, "Wrong Way to Ireland."
April 19th, 2007 - I have added two Apollo crew signed items. An Apollo 13 recovery cover from the USS Iwo Jima. This
is probably the most significant spacecraft recovery in history. This cover was there on the scene. I also picked up an Apollo
15 crew signed VIP card.
January 29th, 2007 - I have added a vintage copy of, "P.S. I Listened To Your Heart Beat: Letters To John Glenn." This
book is a compilation of letters that John Glenn received after his historic Mercury flight in 1962. This is an interesting
snapshot of values and thoughts that people held at the dawn of Man's first steps off of the planet Earth. I foresee this
book serving as an anthropological core sample of early 1960's society for years to come.
January 22nd, 2007 - Wow! Look at what showed up in the mail today! This was returned to me from Novaspace after the
most recent John Young signing held there last week. A John Young White Space Suit NASA Litho signed in Black Sharpie.
This is one of those Holy Grails of collecting Astronaut autographs. There is a collector's niche of having all the Moonwalkers
autographs on their individual NASA WSS Lithos. This is one of the two hardest to get. The most difficult is the Jim Irwin
WSS, which I do not have. Neil Armstrongs are certainly coveted too, but Neil signed a lot of the WSS lithos over the years.
This John Young signed lithograph is a major addition that I am very pleased with.
December 1st, 2006 brings the addition of a Donn Eisele ISP BS Litho I picked up from the Fall 2006 Aurora Auction.
This fills a gap in my goal of completing my collection of M-G-A signatures. (Mercury-Gemini-Apollo) All I need now are Gus
Grissom and Jack Swigert. Then I just need to add an Ed White portrait to complete the collection in portraits.
November 1st, 2006 additions include additional signatures on two lifting body photographs and a new cover flown
aboard the X-43A's B-52 mothership, also known as, "Balls 8.".
August 20th, 2006 I added a D-558-1 in flight signed by Marion Carl. I snuck it onto the D-558-2 page since Marion
also flew the D-558-2. Many of the D-558-2 pilots also flew the D-558-1.
August 8th's update is the addition of George Cooper to this X-4 picture. George has retired to the role of winemaker
these days up in Northern California. Talk about the best of both worlds!
July 30th, 2006 I added Harrison Schmitt's new book, "Return to the Moon." I also updated an X-24a picture that
John Manke has signed.
On July 6th, 2006 I added this copy of, "Wildcats to Tomcats the Tailhook Navy."
Added June 19th, 2006 is an Apollo 9 crew pic. I have been carrying this around to different events over the past
two years. It was just completed courtesy of Kim Poor at the latest Novaspace signing session with Jim McDivitt.
Added on March 6th, 2006 is a 1954 copy of Tony LeVier's book, "Pilot." Tony was the first person to fly the U-2.
Tony's book was published before his first U-2 flight. This copy didn't have a DJ. Sometimes you have to take what you can
find... I did some fancy work in Photoshop and inserted the title page into the cloth cover to make it more interesting than
just looking at a black cloth cover.
Added on February 6th, 2006 are two aviation books including Milt Thompson's book. Milt's book was published in
April 1992. This copy is from the library of Laurence K. Loftin, the former Director
of Aeronautics for NASA Langley Research Center. This copy was signed in July of 1992.
Also added is George Gay's book, "Sole Survivor."
Finally added on January 8th, 2006.... A copy of Alan Bean's "Reaching for the Stars" with the added signatures of Dave
Scott, Jack Schmitt, Mike Collins, John Young, Frank Borman and Gene Cernan.
