Moss Neck Photographs

Moss Neck is in Caroline County, Virginia, off of U. S. Route 17.  It is private property, and trespassing is not allowed.  Moss Neck is associated with Civil War Confederate General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson, and was featured in the 2003 movie Gods and Generals.  For more information on the estate, see the Free Lance-Star newspaper web page describing the property when it was for sale in 2004.

This is the cemetery for the estate.  National Park Service historian Frank O’Reilly of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park is pointing out the unmarked grave of five-year-old Janie Corbin, who died of scarlet fever in March, 1863.  For the poignant story of Janie Corbin and Confederate General “Stonewall” Jackson, see artist Mort Kunstler’s web page.
