What does it take to be a referee?

 

1.   Love the game, and want to contribute to making the AYSO experience for the kids Fun Safe and Fair.

 

2.  Invest a Saturday or evening for training to get certified as an AYSO ref.

 

3.  Be willing to wear those cool shirts and socks!

 

4.  Time committment - many ref's do 2 games (about 3 hours) on a Saturday.  However,  if your availability is limited we'd be glad to have your help for a single game from time to time throughout the season. With enough referees, we can put a 3 ref team on the field and make sure that all games are covered, even when the regular ref's have other committments to meet.

 

5.  Be any age!  Whether you are a parent, a student, or just an "AYSO hanger on", you can referee and be part of the game.
