The Association for Women in Communications
Forms Loudoun/Western Fairfax Chapter

Ashburn, VA, March 16, 2004 — The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) is seeking professionals in Loudoun County and the western Fairfax
County area interested in meeting other professionals in all fields of communications, including public relations, corporate communications,
advertising, website and graphic design and production, magazine publishing, broadcast and print journalism, published authors and photographers. Members have the opportunity to extend their leadership skills, continue their
professional development and support the exchange of knowledge and
information among colleagues.

The association provides many networking opportunities. Professional and
student chapters offer information exchange programs and forums. The online
membership directory and the annual conferences provide sources for
developing national and international connections. Active members develop
strong ties to communicators in diverse professions, exchanging ideas and
finding solutions to problems.

The association is based in the United States and has more than 100
professional and student chapters around the world. Membership is open to
women and men who work in the communications professions.

The association's annual Clarion Award competition honors excellence in communications in more than 100 categories and is open to members (who
receive entry fee discounts) and non-members. Members who take advantage
of AWC involvement to develop and extend their leadership skills find that
these skills transfer easily to leadership positions in their professional lives.
