Autumnglory's Storybook Masquerade

Mask is our foundation sire.  He chose me at ABC Gerbils; I was there to take loan of a lovely female, ABC's Second Promise, who has become my gold standard in friendly gerbils.  Mask and his brother were both up for adoption, and I was having difficulty deciding whether to go for show-quality or friendly.  Mask decided for me, flinging himself repeatedly out of his tank to visit with me.  He's still just as affectionate, and is now "Grandpa Mask" - the king of the gerbil room!

Autumnglory's Prince Charades

Prince Charades wasn't supposed to stay here.  He had a home to go to... twice.  The first time, we thought he was a she... so much for THAT home.  The second time, virtually en route to Shawsheen River Gerbils, Char decided that it was time to turn on the charm.  Mr. Shy Boy, who never liked to come out much or cuddle, decided that he wanted to be a shoulder-and-up-the-sleeve gerbil.  Needless to say, we can't quite bring ourselves to give him up!  He's a handsome colorpoint gray agouti, and while he's still too shy to enter the breeding program, he's now a much-loved companion to Grandpa Mask.

Autumnglory's Morning Star

Star captured our hearts from the start... our first Siamese, she has her father Jack's lovely tiny headspot and "anchor" on the shoulders.  She took "Best of Opposite Sex" in the spotted class at the 2007 Pet Expo in Springfield, MA.  We're hoping to one day find the perfect gentleman gerbil for her, but for now, she lives with her loving extrovert sister, Nugget.

Autumnglory's Jingle Belle

Well, we'd meant to get up plenty of up to date pictures... but we discovered a few things in the process.
1)  Actual daylight is best for photographing gerbils... note the difference between Prince Charades and the others on the rust backgrounds.
2)  Rust is NOT a good color for gerbil photography.  It turned Silver Belle's lilac mottling into a sort of tan-gold, and didn't do any justice to Morning Star.
3)  Our camera is doing funky weird things with focus.
Oh well... we tried.  Better pictures will come soon!  - CSV
