BEN is a Lab/Chow mix born in May 2003. This sweet boy has already been through a traumatic beginning to his young life. He's survived parvo, near amputation of a leg and lost two "toes" Through it all, Ben has kept a sunny disposition. In fact, he's downright high on life with lots of energy!!! Ben loves to play with other dogs. We believe Ben would be happiest in a home with another young, active dog like him !! Ben is not suited for a home with cats or children under 8 because of his enthusiasm! He also is initially wary of men, but a man with a gentle, kind approach can win Ben's heart and trust quickly. Ben longs to please and knows basic commands. He is not fond of crates ... but so far has been the perfect houseguest in his foster home -- no messes or tear-ups while alone. Ben has been through more turmoil, trouble and trauma than any puppy deserves. What Ben deserves now is a family who will love him and a home where he is safe.
