Regular Meetings will have a Social Time with light refreshments from 7:00 to 7:30, presentations starting at 7:30.  All Regular Meetings will be at Winton Center and Night @ the Movies will be at the Audubon House on Galbraith Rd unless otherwise stated.

"Native Orchids of the Eastern US"  presented by Brian Jorg.  Brian has been photographing native orchids in the wild for many years with particular emphasis on the Appalachian Mts.  He is currently the Manager of Horticulture at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens and a horticulturist at Spring Grove Cemetery for 15 years.  Please visit his web site brianjorg.com to see his excellent photography not only of flora but also fauna.  He is an active birder, has led trips to Kenya for the zoo and also teaches educational seminars.

"Raptors" presented by Ron Austing


Internationally known wildlife photographer Ron Austing will present a program on Raptors.  A former Hamilton County Park Ranger for over 30 years and official photographer for the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Ron is the author of three books.  His photos have appeared in National Geographic, National Wildlife, Audubon, Ranger Rick and many other publications.  His travels include the Arctic, Ecuador, Galapagos, Mexico, Africa, India as well as all over the US.

Monday,  April 20th. Regular Meeting:

"Tanzania Wildlife in the 1980'S" presented by Allan Beach


 In two trips to Tanzania in 1983 and 1985 you could still see big tusked elephants and black rhino before the poachers killed them off.  The wildlife, mammals and birds of Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangiri Nat'l Parks plus Ollduvai Gorge, Mt Meru and the Rift Valley will be on view in two of Al's eight trips to Africa.

“MEMBER'S PICTURE NIGHT”

 

Show off your wildlife pictures for the Audubon audience.  Bring your digital, slides or actual photos of wildlife you have photographed.  Tell us about  them.  We'll have digital projectors, laptops, slide projector available for viewing your pictures on the big screen.  We recommend you limit the number to about 20.  Please contact:  Allan Beech  <abeach@cinci.rr.com> if you intend to present.

“Let’s GO Bats” presented by Kathy Edelen

BRING YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN NIGHT

 

Kathy is founder and director of research for "EchoBats, Inc." and puts on a great program about the world of bats including some live visitors, a special night to impress children and grandchildren who are out of school.  A former keeper at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens and Naturalist with the Hamilton County Parks, Kathy is dedicated to teaching you about bats.  Bring the young ones.
