California Supreme Court Upholds
Ban on Gun Shows !

Using the pretext of a shooting incident, Alameda County arbitrarily banned gun shows at the Alameda Fairgrounds. The linkage of the shooting and gun shows was a total fabrication. The shooting occurred when a Richmond "gang-banger", indiscriminately opened fire on a crowd, during the Alameda County Fair. It had nothing what-so-ever to do with a gun show. This prejudicial conduct is typical of Bay Area politicians in their unending quest to outlaw firearms.

I was under the impression public facilities were available for shows and legitimate commerce. Apparently, this is not the case. The California State Supreme Court voted 6 to 1 against protecting the rights of Californians engaged in lawful business. The court ran rough-shod over the state preemption law, upholding this autocratic and discriminatory regulation. In the late great state of California, we have political despotism being given a "thumbs-up", by judicial malfeasance.

Oakland Gun Ban !
ALAMEDA COUNTY GUN RIGHTS ACTION ALERT!

Oakland Councilmember Henry Chang, introduced an ordinance to ban "ultra compact" handguns (less than 6.75 inches long and 4.5 inches high). Yet, another attempt by a city to ban guns. This proposal, also prevents anyone under 18 years of age from entering a store that sells firearms, or under 21 years of age, if the store sells handguns. *

The measure was passed by the Oakland City Council - more arrogance and buffoonery by anti-gun politicians.

ALAMEDA COUNTY NRA MEMBERS' COUNCIL MEETING REMINDER

The next NRA Alameda County Members' Council monthly meeting will be held at 7:30 PM on the first Tuesday of the month, at Sergio's Pizzeria in San Leandro (directions follow). Sergio's offers a varied menu including pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and several imported tap beers. If you plan on eating, please arrive early enough to have your order delivered prior to the start of the meeting.

Sergio's Pizzeria is at 150 W. Juana, just inside the Safeway shopping center in downtown San Leandro. Their phone number is (510) 895-0880. Directions: From 880, take the Davis Street exit east, follow Davis to San Leandro Blvd., turn right, go to West Juana, turn left and proceed to the shopping center entrance just past Safeway. Turn in at the stoplight; Sergio's is just inside the parking lot to the right. >From 580, take the Dutton/Estudillo exit west, and, if coming from Oakland, proceed on MacArthur, or, if coming from Hayward, turn left on MacArthur, and proceed to Juana. Turn right on Juana and continue on past East 14th to the Safeway shopping center parking lot. Turn in at the stoplight; Sergio's is just inside the lot on the right.
