The people who used the atlatl left behind wonderful art in the caves and on nearby rock formations.  They created this art both  by pecking the rock (petroglyphs) and by painting (pictographs).  While we do not understand the significance of their art, it is beautiful to observe and fun to speculate about its meaning.  Listed below are links to beautiful rock art that was created during the time when atlatls were in use.  The first two sites are from the caves in France, and the others are in America.
