About the Author
This website is based on the thesis "The Development of Beijing Opera During the Cultural Revolution,"
by Wendy A. Levine. It was completed upon Levine's graduation from the University of Colorado at
Boulder, and earned her magna cum laude.
Research for this work included a two month
excursion to mainland China, and a two week visit to Taiwan, P.R.C. The author hopes to see this work
published in its entirety, preferably for use in a college classroom setting, before the end of the year.
Since completing the thesis, Levine has completed an M.B.A. in Arts Administration and
Marketing.
