FORREST'S OLIVER OF WHISKEY HOLLOW, UKC registered  Above:  Oliver came to us last fall after we lost our beloved Ruff.  He is a wonderful dog and just fits in perfectly here.   Oliver is a one and a half year old ES from Whiskey Hollow Farm of Steve and Sheila Heist.  He is from Heist's Jenny of Forrest Run Farm and Teri Knox's Strider of Du Prairie.  Oliver has a great disposition due to temperment breeding but mostly the great upbringing and socialization he has had with the Heist family.   He loves doing chores, looking for groundhogs and putting up the chickens!  This is Oliver's first litter.  He will have his OFA this summer.

FORREST'S MISS JESSICA, UKC registered , ESCR  Below:  Jessica is a pretty English Shepherd.  She is a people pleaser and more.  Jessica's  sweet nature compliments Oliver.  Jess is out of Good Shepherd Farm English Shepherds.  She has proven to be very loyal and a quick learner.  She too loves the farm and has taken down a few varmits herself.  This is Jessica's first litter.  In 2008 she had one pup who lives with us too.  Jess's parent had excellent hip scores as dose Jessica with a prelim OFA fair.  All of our dogs are good with children, cats, chickens and livestock.

RUFF WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS!

Tuesday, August 19, 2003 my best buddies worked the gate in my backyard getting out of our fenced yard.  As our family was on vacation in Florida, Jess and Ruff were compelled to chase something (I guessed) down our 400 foot driveway to find themselves on the road and in the path of a car.  Swerving to miss Jessica, the driver did not see my Ruff .  After the tragic phone call and a veterinary evaluation my Ruff was put to rest.  He has and always will be the best dog I ever had.  I always wanted a dog like him and he will never be replaced.  My heart breaks daily over the loss of such a sweet and wonderful friend!

The All-American Farm dog, the English Shepherd.
If you are not familiar with the breed of English Shepherds you may want to know more!  The English Shepherd is an old time breed.  Originating in England and Scottland, the breed was brought to the Americas for an all rounded purrpose.  These dogs are best known for their ability to gently herd livestock, hunt, pest removal, family pet and a loving friend.  English Shepherds are wonderful family dogs.  They are gentle with children and are very loyal companions.  If taught, they love other farm pets such as cats and poultry.

To have a greater appreciation of the English Shepherd go to  www.englishshepherds.org.  This is the official site of the English Shepherd Club.
