Status: (October 30th, 2003) Work nearing completion on 15mm Ancient British all-option DBA army. Work has started on the next commission: 600+ 10mm GHQ American Civil War figures.

I am still taking orders but I will be unable to start any new large commissions anytime soon. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Getting Started

All painting jobs are done using figures provided by the customer. It is better for both of us if you've purchased your figures beforehand and you've had a chance to inspect them. The customer can also save money by preparing the figures for painting before shipping them to me (see the "Pricing" page for details).

Once you have your figures, contact me to find out if I am currently taking commissions. You can either email me or just visit this page on the site to find out what my status is. Feel free to email details to me about what you want done. I intentionally limit the number of commissions I have going at any one time so that I can give them my full attention and complete them on time. I may have more than one going if the commissions are relatively small, but large orders may have me booked for a long time. I do not want to overbook myself and make promises I can't keep.

If I'm nearing completion on a commission and I'm ready to accept a new one, that information will also be posted here. If you're willing to wait, I'll be happy to put you on a waiting list, but please do not send me the figures until I let you know personally that I have an opening in the schedule. I will not accept any figures without prior contact and agreement on all details of the commission.

How long will my order take?

Once the details of your order have been worked out, I can give you an estimate of how long it will take to complete it. While every effort will be made to complete the order by the estimated time, please understand that since this is a one-man business there can be circumstances beyond my control that may delay the completion of your order. Should there be a delay, I will notify you as soon as possible and give you a new estimate on the completion time. I promise to keep the turnaround time as short as possible, but I will not rush a job and do sloppy work just to meet a deadline; neither of us would be happy with the result.

After the Commission Has Been Accepted

Once the commission has been accepted, the customer will ship the figures to me and I will begin begin working on them. I do not require a down payment. I would appreciate being notified by the customer about when and how the figures were shipped. The customer will be responsible for packing the figures securely before shipping them to me. I will inspect the package on arrival and determine if there was any damage during transit. Customers are encouraged to insure their packages. If there is a problem with the package, I will notify you about the problem immediately. In any case, I will let you know that I received your figures.

Progress Reports on Your Order

I will send you progress reports about your order on a regular basis and I will post pictures of the figures on this website. I will not use your name on the website without your permission. As I post pictures here, you will see how the work is progressing and you'll be able to determine if you're getting what you want. Your feedback is very important to me.

After the Order Has Been Completed

Upon completion, I will inform you of the actual shipping and insurance costs; you will then send your payment to me. I accept personal checks, bank drafts, and money orders. Personal checks will have to clear the bank before I ship the order. I do not accept credit cards at the present time. All payments must be made in US funds.

Shipping and Handling

Free shipping on orders over $200, otherwise the customer will pay all shipping and insurance and this cost will be included with the final bill.
Currently, I will ship all orders via the United States Postal Service and all orders will be registered with a notification of receipt required. Other shipping services may be added later.

If you happen to be within a reasonable driving distance of Winona, Minnesota, you can pick up your order in person; I'd be pleased to meet you!

Returns

I aim for complete customer satisfaction. By keeping the customer informed and by showing pictures of the figures along the way, I hope to have a satisfied customer before the figures leave my worktable. If you are not completely happy with your purchase, I want to hear about it. Let me know if something is wrong and I will do what I can to make it right.
