The Reunion Part 8 of 14

Disclaimers in part 1

"I’m going to go take a shower," said AJ as he grabbed another T-shirt and pair of shorts then disappeared into the bathroom. A few minutes later he reappeared in his clean T-shirt. "Shower’s all yours."

She hopped in the shower, trying her hardest to not think that just moments ago AJ was in here, and she finished in record time. While she was in the shower, AJ turned on the TV and was hoping that she wouldn’t walk out wearing a sheer little teddy or anything of the sort. He heard a muffled "Damn" from the bathroom, then Sarah walked out wearing an oversized tee shirt and shorts. She held her arms in front of her. "What’s wrong?"

"Well it seems that Harriet decided to have a joke at my expense. She didn’t pack me the right clothes." She lowered her arms and he saw what was written on her tee shirt. "Don’t laugh, AJ it’s not that funny."

"Actually, yes it is. What’s a Marine doing with a Naval Academy shirt?"

"Obviously, I stole it from Harm." She didn’t notice how abruptly his laughter stopped. "I’ve stayed over on his couch several times and he’s stayed over on mine occasionally. He loaned me his shirt once so I had something more comfortable to wear. I guess I forgot to return it."

She put her bag down next to her bed and sat down trying to get comfortable watching the TV. Finally tired of watching her AJ said, "Sarah, come here and get comfortable. The bed is plenty big, and I don’t bite."

She walked over to the bed and sat on the edge before she leaned back against the headboard and got comfortable. She was actually so comfortable that in less than 30 minutes she fell asleep. He soon fell asleep as well.

Sometime in the night Sarah rolled over and felt the body next to her. Knowing instinctively that she was safe, she moved a bit closer. He rolled over and, used to being the only one in his bed, was somewhat surprised to find someone in his bed. His brain was too sleep fogged to realize or remember how she got there but he really didn’t care. She just felt so right in his arms. He reached out and pulled her to him. For the first time in a long time he was able to get a great night’s sleep – free from nightmares. They both slept so soundly, they didn’t wake up until someone knocked on their door.
