Norwegian-American Line ships included the Stavangerfjord, the Oslofjord and the Bergensfjord. Most emigrants came to America on the Stavangerfjord.

The Atlantic City Norwegians who often fished and vacationed in New Bedford. Uncle Karl Tobiassen, second, front left, was our Santa Claus when his yearly letter came with a $20. bill enclosed. Momma always cried tears of relief when it arrived for she knew we would now have some Christmas. We were very thankful to him.
