The ASL Immersion Weekend

About the Outdoor Education Center

Tucked away in the valley of St. Louis County lies the Outdoor Education Center at Babler State park
This 300-acre retreat, operated by the Rockwood School District in partnership with the
Missouri Department of Natrual Resources Division of State Parks,
offers recreational opportunities tailored to meet a group's specific needs.

This location is perfect for the Immersion Weekend's needs -- it is a secluded, comfortable area!

Open year-round, the Outdoor Education Center can accommodate
large day groups or overnight groups of up to 120 participants.

Even though the retreat can hold up to 120 participants, the ASL Immersion Weekend
is limited to 75.  This number is more manageable by the presenter.

Overnight guests sleep in one of eight heated cabins.  Each cabin accommodates 14 people
and contains a fireplace, shower and restroom facility.  The dining hall, equipped with
a full service kitchen, can accommodate 135 people at each meal.
There are four covered pavilions with picnic tables and barbeque pits throughout the site.

Some presenters send breakout groups to the out of doors and
to the pavilions to do work, weather permiting of course!
