Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas/Sukkot in April) is a volunteer home repair program, which, in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners at no cost to the owner.  This program provides a cost-effective response to preserving existing affordable owner-occupied housing by leveraging volunteer labor and community donations.

Repairs include: painting; ceiling, wall, floor, window and door repairs; minor electrical/plumbing; removal of trash; roof repairs; general maintenance; and yard work. The program emphasizes accessibility and safety modifications (ramps, grab bars and railings) to address the special needs of seniors and people with disabilities. RPJ Housing, the program’s sponsor, recruits skilled volunteers and negotiates reduced fees from professional tradesmen/companies to assist with work that requires professional workmanship and supervision. Through this effort, occupants are enabled to remain in their homes in improved conditions and avoid drawing on the community for more expensive housing options.
