Took the day off from touring; Paul fixed the faucet (everything gets lose around here) and I put pins, postcards, and
flyers in their respective folders; had hoped to write a nice update but - there's always tomorrow. We've seen Crazy
Horse, more of Custer State Park, and the towns of Custer, Hill City, and Keystone as well as Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD
Air and Space Museum. Yesterday we went back to Mount Rushmore to buy Nick Clifford's book and meet him and Carolyn;
Nick worked on the monument for three years. This was a special moment for us. We had dinner last night with Betty
Jo and Jack at the Alpine Inn; wonderful filet mignon - the only item on the dinner menu. We had dinner Monday night
at the Blue Bell Lodge with Kevin & Jenni, their two girls Katherine (4 yrs), Caroline (1 yr) and Bobbi (Jenni's mom);
they are on a cross-country tour; it was so exciting to see them and hear of their travels, too. Check out website:
www.travelpod.com/members/kwcox BTW, it is a bit windy here; in the week we've camped our weather station has registered gusts of 43 and 37 mph with
an average several days of 25 mph; then there are days with a 10 mph average. No rain, though, and the humidity is always
below 35%; we do miss the humidity. TTYL

Honest. We've had wifi all week and I check email but just don't stop to write for weblog; suppose I ought to write
offline and just cut and paste. Maybe later. Just want to tell you we have had a wonderful three days in the Black
Hills so far and have a week yet to go; Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road and it's pigtail bridges and
tunnels, Keystone Historical Museum, Journey Museum, Stave Church, and even the Visitor Center at exit 61 is outstanding.
Plus we are visiting friends from RCR, Betty Jo and Jack; met their family and friends at Betty Jo's birthday party last night,
too. BTW, it can be windy here where we're camped on the east side of the Hills in the Grassland area: 42 mph
winds Thursday night - we pulled in the slides at 3 a.m. and that helped. No rain to speak of, though; humidity is very
low for us - 15-30% so we're using lots of lotion and eye drops. Lots of teasers on TV (and the web) for closing ceremonies
of XXIX Olympics; must watch tonight. This is why we are at this campground: cable TV and wifi with full hook-ups.
TTYL.

Western Cultural Heritage Museum and D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery were our stops today. This is way too much fun; why
can't we travel 12 months - well, I guess weather.
