Another beautiful day in paradise after a heavy rain at 8 a.m.   We spent a lazy Sunday reading the newspaper and going to the movies; saw "Ice Age 2" and enjoyed laughter and a few tears. 

Welcome to the 2006 Hurricane Season!  That's all we hear these days;  there are so many specials on TV and guides in the newspapers.  Ah, well, we will be out of Florida soon.  Today we did play table tennis in Venice with a group of retirees that live here year round; we've found them in May when the activities at RCR (Encore - Royal Coachmen Resort) stopped.  Of course, we play in a gym with a tin roof so we listened to the rain pour down; two inches at the airport and an inch measured here on our gauge.  We've had some rain each day for almost a week; the flowers, grass, and weeds are emerging.
