Arundo bassoon/contrabassoon cane comes in two edge thickness'. Gouge A has thinner edges and has a tendency to produce a rich tone, while Gouge B has thicker edges and has a tendency to produce a darker tone. Note that our Gouge A has thicker edges than French gouges.
Measured Cane
For a small extra charge, we can send you cane that is measured with a density gauge. (Our density gauge measures from 7 to 20 - the lower the number, the harder the cane; the higher the number, the softer the cane.) Please specify: Hard (11 and under), Medium Hard (12-14), Medium (15-17), or Soft (18-20).
