In 1984 I got my first single lens reflex, 35 mm camera and graduated
from the box camera/Brownie/Instamatic that I had used all my life. It was amazing what could be done with shutter speed
and aperture settings, and I quickly started experimenting with taking indoor pictures in natural light to isolating
subjects with white or black backgrounds.

I got an enlarger and set up a darkroom in the bathroom to work in
black and white fotos. This was a composit foto, of a shot taken inside the cockpit of a DC-3, with brain coral isolated
in space shown thru the windshield. This took some time in the darkroom, switching negatives and using masks.
It looks quaint by what can be done on a computer these days, but it was my creative effort of two decades past.
