When artist Maggie is asked by her Aunt Rose to navigate her old boat down to London, little does she suspect that the journey of a hundred miles will change her life.
There exists throughout Great Britain a network of navigable canals which connect every city and most major market towns. This network, which covers over 3000 miles of countryside, is home to a thriving boating community.
As Maggie discovers the fascinating world of contemporary life on the British canals, she records her experiences in word and picture in her sketchbook.
