It was important to balance strong visual elements. I embellished the collages with rich layers of background color. It was
quite a challenge to bring these two pages into a harmony. Also, I struggled to maintain a continuity of palette...quite difficult
over an eight year period!

A few key locations merited their own full page renditions. This is Bull's Bridge, at the junction of the Grand Union Canal
and the Regent's Canal, as seen from the visitor moorings at Tesco's. I especially like the smoke emerging from the green
boat's chimney.

This is the last picture in the book, a very tranquil scene of Little Venice, in the heart of London. I imagine that Maggie
ends up mooring here for some time, as it is something of an artist's colony. This is one of my favorite moorings. You would
never imagine that busy Paddington Station is just around the bend. The IWA Canalway Cavalcade takes place here every May
Day Bank Holiday weekend.
