The annual Open Art Art & Music Affair is always held the first Saturday in March. The show
starts at 10:00 AM. And runs through 6:00 PM., or later.
The past six years have been successful events with unique arts and crafts and something for every
taste and budget. We celebrate our seventh year in 2007.
Our Artists are all Keys residents or part time visitors, many return year after year to participate in
this event. The show features an eclectic range of displays and arts and crafts.
Visitors to the show have reviewed it with great enthusiam, primarily because it maintains the
flavor of Old Key West, the location on the Historic Harbor entices locals and visitors.
Our Artists vary from fine art painters to sea sponge basket makers. Tons of jewlery, and unique handicrafts
abound. Many of the Artists demonstate their work. Master Potter, Jay Grogin, also know as the original Hairy
Potter, demonstrates his large scale wheel throwing technique and uses this venue to sell tickets to the annual
Mud Pi Dinner at the Community College.
Our artists are not limited to showing their work in a "white tent", many create fanciful displays as unique
as their work.
Evalena Worthington owner of The Schooner Wharf Bar puts together a fantastic music line-up featuring local
and national acts for this event. Visit this site again to view this years musical offerings, remember it's free,
and so is the harbor view.
