I made an emergency yarn road trip Monday to get yarn for the Kyoto top. I drove to a yarn store in Raleigh that
is really great. Here is a picture of my yarn:
I'm going to use the blue as the top, the pink as the sash and the green as the detail on the sash. I may even
put a little of the green at the end of the sleeves. We'll see.
Blueberry, raspberry and kiwi! Like a delicious tart!
I've already casted on and have about an inch and a half of the sash done. This is my first big knitting project.
I've only done scarves and hats in the past. I'm so excited!
I've joined up with a knitalong to help support me through it.
I am moving on the 31st so my posts may be a little irregular for a short time. This knitting is what is keeping
me sane during the whole process!
I'm still waiting for my yarn to come in. It's driving me crazy. I've knitted a yarn ball just to keep my
hands busy while I wait.
We've been boxing up and moving more things this week. I hate boxing up my books. Hopefully I'll have them
all together in bookshelves in one room within a year.
I'm up for jury duty on the 30th. We're moving out on the 31st. Perfect timing huh?! I just hope my
yarn is here by then so I can knit while I wait. That will be a great use of the time.
If I can get to a good yarn shop this week I may go ahead and buy supplies for the Kyoto top I saw at
knitty.com. We'll see.
I've just been learning about the whole weblog thing in the past four days so I'm totally new to this. I hope all
will bear with me as I try it out. Lately I've been on a knitting binge. I'm impatiently waiting for the yarn
I ordered to make a Ravenclaw scarf (book colors). For those not in the know, Ravenclaw is one of the houses at Hogwarts
school in the Harry Potter books. Ever since I saw the sites about Harry Potter knitting I've been obsessed.
I want to join in many knit-alongs.
I've also started cruising all kinds of knitting sites and now have many other projects I want to do. Mostly some
really cool tops for myself. It seems I tend to make my crochet projects gifts, but choose knitting projects that I
want for me.
Anyway, I'll be working on this site for a little while so please bear with me!
