Lesson 1:

    Part 1

In Part 1 we were asked to post a message on the bulletin board in order to get to know our classmates and mention what we hope to achieve with the class. We were also encouraged to check out the other messages, sites and information of our classmates. It was very exciting to see and learn about the work my classmates were doing and the possibility of what is next for me.

    Part 2

  1. Create a Web page that uses one or more of Navigator object properties described in this lesson. Design your page so that when someone views it, the information captured by the browser detection code is reported in an alert dialogue box.

  2. Create a second Web page that looks at a different Navigator object properly and design the page so that when it is viewed , the browser data captured by your program is displayed inline.

  3. Optional Challenge: You can probably think of many uses for browser detection programs once you know how to redirect users to specific Web pages based on their browser. But can you think of an interesting or entertaining way to incorporate what you have learned thus far into a Web page? Put on your thinking cap and see if you can come up with a creative way to share browser details with users who surf through your site.

  4. Post your work on your own Web site, and then post a message on the class bulletin board indicating the URL where your porjects can be viewed.
