Name: Saddle Strings
Location: Hooper, Utah, United States

We’re a cowboy band with the style of the traditional trail songs and ballads of old, but with a contemporary flair. Brian Arnold provides lead vocals and guitar, with Kurt Argyle, who supplies the bass work, backing him up. Laurie Morgan and Cindy Argyle sing background vocals, occasionally sing a song or two, and provide some minor percussion, while Bud Brown rounds up the percussion on the drums. Jodi Thackeray, plays fiddle, sings and yodels, and also adds beautiful harmonies to the group’s vocals.

Albums Available

Saddlestrings produced their first album, which was released in 2000, with three of the original members, Brian, Kurt and Cindy. Titled “Hangin’ from the Conchos”, all but three songs are original material from the SaddleStrings. “Coyotes”, by Bob McDill, has been a most requested song at performances, “Rose of the San Joaquin”, by Tom Russell and Sylvia Tyson, and “Buckaroo Man”, by Dave Stamey have always been favorites for the SaddleStrings. Special thanks go to a dear friend, who wrote “To the American Cowboy” after spending time “on the mountain” with us cowboys.

The second album, “Tied Behind The Cantle”, which includes Bud and Laurie, was released in late 2003 and features 14 tracks, including 8 originals. This album includes songs sung by Brian, Kurt, Cindy and Laurie, with an instrumental as well, showcasing the lead guitar. It includes an original “cowboy rap”, and songs written by Paul Gross, Don Cook/Chick Rains, Belinda Gail, and Ian Tyson. The greatest compliment we’ve received on this album is, “It’s like pushing the random button on the stereo with several of your favorite CD’s in the player.”

Material is being compiled for album #3 at this time. The title will be "Somewhere in the Middle of Wyoming". Look for it by Christmas.

It is available for purchase online from CD Baby, or you can find it at many fine local establishments.
