ARES D10 Severe Weather Definitions
"Severe Weather" is defined as:
Hail greater than 3/4 inch in diameter (size of a Quarter coin).
Winds greater than 58 MPH (50 Knots) (small tree branches breaking).
Funnel clouds or tornadoes.
Other reports Severe Weather Net Controllers want to know about:
Rain of greater than 1 inch per hour (= need highest speed of car wipers).
Lightning strikes of more than 10 cloud to ground (CG) per minute.
Flash flooding.
Water runoff over street curbs.
Roads closed due to high water.
