The Gift Shop I
- 20th Century Art
- Especially Kandinsky, Rauschenberg, and Oldenburg
- Val Kilmer's portrayal of Doc Holliday in the film "Tombstone"
- Although every critic I read found him praiseworthy, his performance struck me on a far more personal level. Five years ago, I fell in love with someone who had a similar personality and speech pattern. Then, he mysteriously vanished.... For 130 minutes, Mr. Kilmer filled an emotional void, and I have been grateful ever since.
- My late Grandfather Key's Card Stunt
- I can't really call it a "card trick," since no deception is involved. The magic is in the math.
- Gianlorenzo Bernini's marble sculpture "Apollo and Daphne" (1622-24)
- No one can tell me that this Baroque masterpiece was not from the hands of a drama queen! Small reproductions are available in retail outlets; but, because they are clumsily rendered, the copies lack the details that made the original so astonishing. I hope I have the opportunity someday to see the original.
- Dreaming of being in love
- Men's Workout magazine
- The publisher is clearly aware that not all readers are interested in fitness tips.
- Tony Kushner and Stephen Sondheim
- Separately they are two of America's most precious cultural treasures. A collaboration from them would blow off the top of everyone's head.
- Toronto
- Just visit once and see what I mean.
- Descending a staircase
- Not necessarily in the nude.
- Michael Musto's column in The Village Voice
- Blonde hair, blue eyes, broad shoulders, prominent vasculature, deep voice, washboard abs, and healthy teeth
- Why yes, thank you, I am a stereotype.
- Moonflowers
- Calonyction aculeatum. This plant is a climbing annual reminiscent of a Morning Glory. The white, fragrant blooms are roughly six inches across. After sunset, mature buds unfurl quickly, not unlike the experience of watching time-lapse photography!
