Dr. Gustiana's reports; May 30, 2006: Impact of Earthquake ; Puskesmas Assessment June 3, 2006 Dear Bu Lucia I'm sorry not to send you any news, I have lots difficulties getting internet connection in Yogya as I spent most of the time in the field almost 18 hours a day working. Now, I'm in Bandung just arrived 2 hours ago, I have assigned Baut to become Yogya head of Mission for emergency phase - he will be assisted by Setyo and Rakata teams in the field; we've probably run the operation for over three months with medical and psychosocial services, and also distribution of food and non food items, we have almost 100 volunteers over a week. With 15 medical personnel, and tommorow we will have another 10 for one week. IBU4Yogya sent 6 medical mobile clinics everyday to villages. I'm developing the concept paper, hopefully will be finished by tomorrow. If there's something you want me to send please let me know, as for today I will have more access to the internet. Dr. Ridwan Gustiana June 1, 2006 Dear all I was out to the field almost 14-16 hours/day especially during the first three days. I have asked Baut to send the pictures, I will send the assessment I have conducted especially in health situation. This is the assessment in 30th of May 2006, nothing really changed - only the death toll already increasing, for your record, all hospitals in Yogyakarta received 50,000 patients and 25,000 of them with severe injured patients. Our mobile clinics conducting outreach to villages who haven't covered by anyone. Six teams of 12 medical doctors went to the field. I haven't know exactly how many patients have been treated by our team but most of the teams in Mobile clinic treat 50-80 patient per day.
